Master of Horror John Carpenter talks soundtracks for issue 06.

The secret of scoring for me is you pay a lot of attention to the image right in front of you. When we get the movie and we start scoring, that’s the secret of it. We don’t plan ahead. It’s improvised – all of this is improvised.

DEK is excited to welcome film director and composer John Carpenter to issue 06. We chat with the legendary movie-maker to review his various film scores throughout the years, ahead of the upcoming release of Halloween Ends - for which John has composed once again alongside his son Cody and godson Daniel Davies.
